Dog Training

Our main goal in dog training at The Dog House is to make training fun.

That is fun for you and for your dog.  Training your dog should be ongoing, something that doesn't stop when puppy classes end.  If you both find training fun and rewarding you are more likely to keep it up.

Dogs give far more when they WANT to work with you instead of HAVING to work with you.

Types of Classes
These classes are not suitable for dogs that are reactive to people or dogs.  A one to one session would be carried out first to assess what would suit your needs best.

Puppy Classes - For dogs under 6 months old

Building a strong bond between you and your dog is key to all dog training.  We show you how to do this in our puppy classes. Our training uses a series of games to make learning fun, and build confidence in puppies.

  • Leave

  • Playing with a toy and giving it up

  • Come when called

Boarding Kennels

We have three large rooms, each has a large indoor area with a heat lamp and free access to a spacious run making it great for multiple dogs, larger breeds or just dogs that like a bit of space!  Each kennel has a private garden too which they can roam about in if the weather is fine.

We also have one smaller pod which is full heated, with a plastic curtain to help keep in the heat.  It still has an outdoor covered run and own paddock.  However it is more suited to smaller breeds or single dogs.

Here at the dog house, we believe that running riot all day isn't ideal for many dogs. So we structure their day carefully so they get the best balance of socialising with other dogs, one on one human time and also some rest time in their kennels.  All dogs get let out for the toilet before breakfast (7am) and out in the paddock (or training hall or walks) 4 times a day (around 9am, 12.30pm, 4pm and 8pm)

Activities will cater to your individual dog, if they prefer human company, then we can play or relax with your dog in their own paddock, or if they like to roam around we can take them to explore the excercise paddock.  If your dog loves to play with other dogs, we can let them play with a suitable play mate (this will be determined by play style and dog size).  All play will be carefully supervised. We also have an indoor training area, so the rain wont stop play for the dogs!

£16 Per 24 Hours, £5 for each additional dog sharing kennel.
